Loads of people seem to want a new right back. I don't get what's wrong with Peltier?
He's as solid as any defender we have at the club. Doesn't lose a challenge.

He doesn't go flying down the wings putting in crosses but then we have pacey wingers to be doing that. Jazz as back up and Patterson can play there too.

I will admit I wanted one earlier on in the Window.

Not because Peltier has done anything wrong but just because I think certain players have their limit and always had Peltier down as a mid-top of the Championship player at best who could possibly be out of his depth in the Premier League, he is also not getting any younger.

However, now the midfield is strong, I think Patterson will revert back to playing full back as I can't see him getting into our midfield so I think it will be him and LP challenging for that spot, plus Richards, Connolly and Manga can also play there so the position is well covered.

Personally I think Pelts will be first choice at home where I see NW playing a back four, but I think away from home NW may go for a back three with wingbacks, and I think Richards will get the nod away from home.
Pelts is a solid player and will be invaluable during the season.
Really hope he does well.

Hope he does well for us but IMO he does not have enough pace for PL and RB is our weakest area now. Hopefully he will prove me wrong though and have a few in his pocket this season

I hope he stays back and defends and puts some crunching tackles in like we know he can. Let the wingers bomb forward with pace

You see a completely different player to me. He gets caught out of position, can't pass, can't cross and being a 'solid defender' is a complete myth.

NW will give him a chance but he will become such a liability that I can see Connolly taking over at some point.

There are 5/6 players that I consider are not up to Premier League standard that will be named in our 25 man squad and one of those is Peltier. Weakest part of our defence & if I had a choice I would put both Jazz and Manga in front of him. Gives away silly free kicks, not the most mobile or creative full back and I think that he will be caught out regularly. Surprised that NW seems to see him as his number 1. I hope that I am proved wrong but I think that ‘‘this area could be a major weakness this season.

Sadly have to agree.

Terrifies me thinking of him v Sane, Sanchez, Mane, Son, Sessegnon, Zaha etc etc.

I agree, I think the solid defending comes because he makes a few hard challenges. Very limited player. I like Richards but never fit and I dread manga at right back.
My thoughts on the re-branding??

I honestly believe a fit Jazz Richards would walk into our side. We started our last prem season with Connolly right back and Peltier is very similar . Lets hope Richards stops handing in sick notes

Play Connolly at right back and we will really have problems! Connolly has been turned inside out whenever he's played in that position, he's slower than Peltier.

He's a good fullback but lacks pace and I think he'll get caught out in the prem.

Spot on, one of our best defenders.

I am 100% sure Paterson will not start even one game at right-back in a back 4 next season. Not in a million years.

Small chance Warnock might put him at right wing back on the rare occasion we play a back 5, but even that's unlikely.

A weak link in our defence. He is relatively solid but that is about it.

IMO he is too slow, does not get tight enough to a winger, is negative when in possession and offers nothing in attack.

To me the failure to sign a decent RB in this window is a major disappointment.

The other issue is Richards. His injuries aside, he has not kicked on from his promising career start and maybe if he can stay fit he can have a decent season but regrettably the manager seems to prefer Peltier.

Manga and Connolly as cover is flirting with danger. Paterson would be a disaster there.

He's a solid defender in the Championship, but wait until you see some of these Premier league wingers skip past him then you might change your mind!

Reckless in the tackle and gets booked too easy. Can't afford that in the premier league. Think we need better.

Posters are entitled to their opinion of players and if they state a player is not good enough and explain why then that is certainly not 'shocking'

As for Peltier he has let City down many times by being caught out of position, easily beaten by pace and his most annoying failing of passing the ball to the opposition time and again.

It gives me no pleasure to point this out but I can't understand the logic of ignoring or under stating the problem we have with him as our first choice right back.

there isnt a single player in the team who you couldnt use the "terrible passing" trait towards.

All opinions mate but imho there’s not many wingers that had the better of him this year, providing he stays st right back and doesn’t venture forward.

I have been pretty vocal on my doubts over Pelts’ ability. Paterson won’t play there as Warnock himself reckons he can’t defend. I can only hope Jazz becomes first choice and stays fit. At the end of the day, the window is shut and Premier League football is back in the Capital! Good luck to Pelts - I’d love you to prove me wrong, you’ll get nothing but support from me until January

Like others have said, I think if Jazz can get, and stay, fit he will end up being 1st choice RB. He's quicker and get's forward well.

I like Pelts and hope he does well but I just fear his slight lack of pace will get found out. That said, there's no doubt he has the ability to put the "frighteners" on tricky wingers and his cover at the back post will be important.

I suppose a lot depends on whether we play with 2 or 3 centre backs. 2 centre backs I think NW will play Peltier as RB, 3 centre backs and surely Jazz will be WB ?

Different kettle of fish now though mate, I think he is a solid Championship defender but this is a whole different level, I feel the same about Bamba tbh.
