Agree 1000% - the "stay calmers" need to wake up and smell the coffee beans.

We will pay with our EPL place for not ensuring we got a recognised EPL striker in early on in the window,

Why oh why was the only thing we seemed to have learnt from our last EPL experience was how to avoid spending a realistic amount of money on reinforcements? When we got relegated last time Solskaer wasted the parachute payments on buying crap to try and get straight back up. We won't do that with NW as he has laid the right foundations in case we do get relegated so why oh why didn't we spend that extra £10m on a recognised striker early on - even if only on loan initially??

Not related to Neville Chamberlain are you!!?

Can I interest you in this Spanish Timeshare I'm getting built...........?

Joking aside my trusting friend - I admire your faith and loyalty and I hope NW can pull another rabbit out of the hat and prove me completely wrong and I will be the first to hold up my hands - I suppose he's done it plenty of times before but just remember the last bloke who walked on water had long ginger hair and an impressive beard!!

Exactly. Sure i'm disappointed that we didn't get anything out of the game but we were away and we are not the only team that lost today. Fulham got beat at home and they spent shed loads

Not sure where this £10m came from. Warnock said he should have another £10m, not that he did have £10m. He also said it when comparing our budget to Huddersfield. As I said at the time, I don't think he ever had that money, and if he did, I am sure he would have spent it. Nor sure what sort of a goal score we would have got even if we had that money. Only 13 players scored 12 or more goals in this league last season, so hard to say how many goals we could expect from a £10m striker.

It's quite simple......

Expect to be relegated and you won't be let down. Anything else is then a nice suprise.

Certainly helps with the stress and definitely stops you thinking football is the be all and end all of life.

And would a recognised loan striker come to us in preference to a side who won't be relegated? And more importantly what team would let a 10m rated forward go out on loan when they are top of any teams must have list. :old:

We cannot attract the level of striker that is needed to improve the team... Even had we had 20m the player wouldn't come....

Let's just battle with what we got... If its not enough so be it...

We will never know who we could have attracted because the money was never put on the table for such a striker - but what we do know is how loud money talks in football!. The more relevant question is whether such a striker would have enhanced our chances of staying up - in all probability - yes, it would have. Therefore, if nothing less that our survival in the Prem is acceptable - and lets be fair nothing less is acceptable unless we want to be a yo-yo club and perhaps we are happy with that, who knows - then not having invested in a striker with a proven track record in the prem is false economy in view of the financial loss that comes with relegation.

I have to agree with your final comment - we are now stuck with what we've got for better or worse as they say!!

NW quite clearly said to many fans at a Q & A session that the club had spent 24m on the four signings and there was another 10m in the kitty but they would only spend it if need be. In the last week he stated that he didn’t go for another striker because none were better than what we had. In other words the 10m could not buy the strikers that were being sold. There were however strikers out there available for loan but clearly we did not want to spend the money on wages or the player didn’t want to come to us.e.g. Hernandez, Mousa, Slimani, Ings, Abraham, to name just a few.
