Neil Warnock has revealed striker Kenneth Zohore missed Cardiff City's defeat to Bournemouth with a groin problem.

The Danish forward was a surprise omission from the Bluebirds' matchday squad for the trip to the Vitality Stadium.

It forced Neil Warnock to deploy Bobby Reid as the lone striker, with the summer recruit being supported by Nathaniel Mendez-Laing and Junior Hoilett in the clash against Eddie Howe's men.

And despite seeing his first choice striker miss out on the opening day, Warnock is confident Zohore will be in contention to
"Kenneth's got a bit of a groin niggle," said Warnock after his side's 2-0 defeat to the Cherries.

"I thought he was going to be fit on Friday, but he just felt it a little bit."

And when asked if the Dane would return to action against the Magpies, the Yorkshireman responded: "I hope so, but I thought he'd be fit for today. But you don't know with injuries."

Glad to see Gunnarsson was able to commit himself fully to playing for Iceland at the World Cup having missed most of last season.

And having signed a new contract he's crocked again.

He's been a great servant over the years.

Now he's a waste of money and a squad place.

Should have let him go in the summer.

We should have not have renewed Gunnarson’s contract, especially after last season, when he weren’t fit to play for us but was fit enough for Iceland.

And replaced him with what? A shoestring? He can still do a job for the team, and he has premier experience witch we need.

Somebody who isn't going to spend more time on the treatment table than on the pitch.

Still, there's an international game coming up soon which no doubt he'll be fit for.

But harsh, I think he came back from the world Cup fit, he played a part in a friendly.

Agree wouldn't have kept him tho.

Shows the floors in our squad depth or was it a case of
“You can have Arter on loan, providing you don’t field a striker and subdue your midfield by playing a defender in there”?
