Loads of time for boozing after the game.

Do people really need to get a few pints in before a 12.30pm kick off?

Can't they wait until after the match?

It's a free world of course and people can do what they like but I always think it's a bit strange that people have to have a drink before a game no matter what time it kicks off.

I've always found it strange when going on holiday on an early flight people are downing pints at 5 or 6 in the morning "because I'm on holiday!". :laughing6:

Each to their own I suppose.

I always have a pint, whatever the time, when we go on holiday. I only normally have one, just celebrate the fact that we’re going away, I won’t be having a pint before the game tomorrow though.

Enjoy your half time squash in the stand away from all those naughty rowdy drinkers having fun at the first home game in the premier league after promotion.

How dare they drink before midday!!!!

Yes I'm really scared of all the hard boys drinking loads of beer and being really hard and tough because they drink beer before midday.

I also said in my original post that people can do what they like but perhaps you can't read properly as well as not being able to write properly.

Everyone has different circumstances I suppose.

For 2 years running, I was in the Ivor Davies before 9am for a 3pm kick off. Both my Brother and I left home to join the military so didn’t see much of each other. I returned home after him and Cardiff City gave us an excuse to catch up on lost time. If we had said we were going to the pub “just because” our wives wouldn’t have let us.

Also, my last bus home was before 6pm, so drinking after the game wasn’t an option.

We enjoyed it and the sense of belonging when we wore our Cardiff tops helped him with his PTSD.

I do genuinely respect your opinion even though it’s different to mine and maybe in hindsight we were ripping the box out of it starting so early.

I honestly was not intending to be critical with my initial post but was pointing out that it seems strange to me that some seem unable to go to a game of football without having a drink beforehand but as you say, everyone has different circumstances and as I said each to their own.

Sorry to hear of your brother's PTSD. Hopefully time is proving to be a healer for him.

It honestly didn’t come across as critical and you always come across as a top bloke.

We were both accustomed to Ninian Park, so when I came back for good in 2014 after only attending the odd game since 1999 the club was different to the one we left. We were playing in red and there was a toxic atmosphere in the stadium. The social aspect was the most enjoyable part of the day and he openly admitted if it wasn’t for the fact I was able to get free tickets for the entirety of our first season home he wouldn’t have bothered.

Nowadays, thanks mainly to Neil Warnock, the passion is back and the veins on his neck stick out as he sings from the stand. We have met some lovely people where we sit who have become really good friends whom we often socialise with away from football.

I hope you enjoy the game today and thank you for your concerns regarding my Brother who ironically is travelling back from a free caravan holiday (kindly paid for by the Army) early this morning to meet me at the game. :bluescarf:
