The company which operated the Liberty Stadium is suing Swansea Council and the contractor it appointed to build it.
Friday 17th August 2018
Swansea Stadium Management Company (SSMC) alleges that the £27 million stadium has defects, namely corrosion to exposed steel structural elements as a result of paint delamination, and a slippery surface on the concourse and mezzanine floor.
It alleges that visitors have slipped and fallen on these surfaces.
SSMC issued the claim in April 2017 and is seeking around £1.3 million in damages from the council and contractor Interserve Construction Ltd.
The matter has been heard at the High Court, where Justice Finola O’Farrell struck out several parts of SSMC’s claim against Interserve Construction. This was on the grounds that the claim had been submitted by SSMC four days after a 12-year deadline.

They are copying west ham but big differences are w/ham much bigger club and got much bigger stadium Swansea just don't have the pull to get big enough sponsorship so rely on tv money heavily hence the fire sale of big earners this season.

You would think it's crazy except when you realise that Swansea Council have yet to receive a single penny in rent, makes SCFC more like squatters than rent paying tennants.

£1.3m in damages? That's enough to buy the whole population of Swansea new mobile homes several times over
