Actually we can until 31st. August, as although all 25 man squads have to be submitted the day after the window closes, if a team sells a player or two from the premier 25 man squad then they would be two short so the can add those players to the 25. Why do you think that although the 25 man squad has been submitted the premier league will not release the squads until Sept 1st.
Just a thought I may be wrong as they would probably have to add the players from players already at the club

You can sign a player whenever you want. We could pay 50 million now and get three players in. Just can’t register ANYONE until the next transfer window. That includes free agents even if we had a space in our squad.

We could sign a free agent now or even 2 September. They won’t be able to play though.

That’s to stop a player being ‘released’ by his club on buyout from his contract and then signing for another club with a signing on fee the same or more Than the buyout fee. It was a way round the transfer window.

Wish this shit would stop we can’t register anyone until Jan 1st. Our transfer business for incoming players is done. Move on and just support the boys
