Not surprised by this. We should have had a pen last week. If it had been at the other end it would have been a stone wall pen

I remember Clattenburg saying he helped Spurs to “self-destruct” during the match they lost at Chelsea - which resulted in Leicester winning the league.

Not surprised in the least. Don't think it just applies to the Premier League, either. Fulham had every decision for months after Christmas last season. Also the scheduling of matches. The football authorities did everything possible to get them promoted. Did not affect us, in the end, but did affect other clubs. Refs are told what to do, given 'guidelines'. They can't change a one sided game, but can subtly change the outcome of a closer one. Football is difficult to fix, but not so difficult to influence results. A Swansea fan told me a few years back, when they were still doing well, that PL refs gave all decisions to the big clubs. You may think I'm paranoid, (perish the thought!), but I lived in Italy for four years. Out there, a ref is considered corrupt until proven otherwise. Perhaps that's influenced my way of thinking.
