Exactly what happened with every one of Cardiff City's internationals in the past week -

SIX SENIOR CARDIFF CITY PLAYERS

Cardiff City players return to full training this week as Neil Warnock's squad reunite following the first international break of the season.

The Bluebirds saw six senior stars called up for their countries, with Cardiff City winger Junior Hoilett performing the best.

Hoilett was one of four senior Cardiff players who were out on international duty, with all set to return to the fold for the Bluebird's upcoming game against Chelsea.

Here's how they fared...

Aron Gunnarsson :bluebird:

Aron Gunnarsson was absent from international duty with Iceland, as he recovered from an ongoing knee injury, which was worsened in pre-season. His absence caused Iceland to suffer as they lost 6-0 to Switzerland and 3-0 to Belgium in the UEFA Nations League.

The Icelandic midfielder has yet to play for Cardiff in the Premier League this season, but is in contention to play against Chelsea on Saturday.

Bruno Ecuele Manga :bluebird:

Bruno Ecuele Manga lined up alongside Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang for Gabon, just under a week after the two were opponents during Cardiff's defeat to Arsenal. Gabon could only draw 1-1 in their African Cup of Nations qualifier with Burundi, who found the net through Stoke City striker Saido Berahino, and are currently third in their group.

Manga then played on Tuesday night in a narrow 1-0 friendly defeat to Zambia and the Bluebirds defender had the privilege of captaining his national side.

Callum Paterson :bluebird:

Callum Paterson, who has made three appearances for the Bluebirds this season, was an unused substitute for the two fixtures against Albania and Scotland.

McLeish opted to go with Aston Villa midfielder John McGinn and Fulham midfielder Kevin McDonald in the centre of the park.

Greg Cunningham and Harry Arter :bluebird: :bluebird:

Ireland duo Greg Cunningham and Harry Arter were called up by Martin O'Neill for the double header against Poland and Wales, but neither featured.

Cunningham was cut from the squad, whilst Arter sat out of the two fixtures due to a dispute with Roy Keane.

Junior Hoilett :bluebird:

Junior Hoilett shone for Canada, scoring once and assisting twice as Canada thrashed the US Virgin Islands 8-0.

The 28-year-old winger played in an unusual 2-5-3 formation, but excelled as Canada began their CONCAF Nations League Qualifiying campaign with a win.

The Canadian international started the move to his goal on the halfway line, before receiving the ball from close range, where he scored from.

Neil Etheridge :bluebird:

After becoming the first Filipino to play in the Premier League, saving two penalties in his first four games, Neil Etheridge linked up with Scott Cooper's side, as they prepare for the AFF Championship in November and the Asian Cup in early 2019.

Cardiff's first choice goalkeeper started for the Philippines in a 1-1 friendly draw away in Bahrain.

Didn’t NW put a block on Gunnarsson going on International duty? I’m sure I read a report that said that :?:
