Every Premier League owner's net worth: How Cardiff City's Vincent Tan compares to Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool counterparts
By Dominic Booth

Manchester United's Glazer family, Everton's Farhad Moshiri and others are all included

Vincent Tan's spending has been crucial to Cardiff City's fate in recent years, with the Malaysian owner shelling out around £30million in the summer as Neil Warnock tries to keep the Bluebirds in the Premier League.

Love the way Tan's first means of wealth is gambling.

Just got this image of him going large at the old Grosvenor casino whilst making the most of the free sandwiches and soft drinks :D

What's happened to Vinny Tan? He was worth US$1.3 billion when he took over. Now roughly US$800 million...

Yes, you are correct :thumbright:

I'm sure he had a fall on his worth during his time here but can't remember what the issue was other than it had something to do with share values and some of his businesses that declined rapidly

However, I'm sure I also read more recently that he had recovered from much of that and was once again heading in an upward direction, e.g. with HR Owen, etc.

I'm sure there is an element of 'guesstimate' in most of these valuations but it does go to show the difference between the top and bottom owners, which in turn possibly explains why we currently have two or three mini leagues within the Premier League

With the cost of players, etc., it seems some of those people are paupers in footballing terms!

Would have thought how much owners are worth is a mute point as ffp is supposed to stop owners bankrolling their clubs at any cost? So regardless of how many billions they have they can only put a small
ammount of it into the club. :old:

I'm not sure about these figures. I'm sure the likes of Abramovich have tens of billions and have been consistently stated as such.

Yes, I tend not to believe these figures as you can only estimate the value based on assets and value of shares compared to how many shares a person owns.

I know he has his fingers in a lot of businesses such as McDonalds and Facebook (I believe). So I'm sure these numbers are mainly based on value of his shares so these obviously fluctuate. But you can definitely see why he hasn't spent more than most in football lately when his estimated value has dropped by US$500m in less than a decade.

And I agree, when you see that Manchester City have spent in excess of £1Bn on players ALONE since their take over it just goes to show how important branding your club is now a days.

Let's just hope he gets a bit more luck with his shares...I'm not one to give him advice on those, I'm basically down on all mine too to be fair :?

I think it's more for the branding side now. They can use their personal money to promote the club internationally, thus bringing in funds on the football end. This means they can spend more in accordance to FFP.
