Aaron Ramsey's agency claim the Welsh midfielder wanted to stay at Arsenal

Aaron Ramsey looks certain to leave Arsenal after his agency appeared to confirm his impending departure in a series of deleted tweets.

The Avid Sports and Entertainment Group that represents Ramsey said the Welsh midfielder wanted to remain at Arsenal - but the Gunners withdrew the offer of a contract extension.

Ramsey looked set to put pen to paper on a new four-year deal at the Emirates after months of contract talks but it then emerged Arsenal had withdrawn the offer.

It means 27-year-old Ramsey can now leave on a free transfer next summer with Liverpool, Chelsea, Juventus, AC Milan, Lazio, Manchester United and Real Madrid all thought to be interested in his signature.

The Liverpool link was further strengthened on Sunday when Ramsey headed off to watch the final day of golf's Ryder Cup , in Paris, with close pal and Anfield midfielder Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain.

Ramsey took over the captain's armband during their 2-0 Premier League win over Watford on Saturday and the Gunners have not spoken about his contract talks at the Emirates.

But now the player's agency have gone on to social media to have their say before later deleting the tweets.

But they were online long enough for fans to take screenshots of what had been said.

Avid sent out a tweet announcing that the midfielder had signed a deal to become the ambassador for Air X, a chartered plane company.

Some Arsenal fans replied to complain about the timing of the announcement, saying it was only going to stir up the situation.

And the responses that then followed from the Avid account included one to an Arsenal fan that said: "There is nothing we can do. The club made a decision. Life goes on."
