Blackburn Rovers plan to offer manager Tony Mowbray a new contract.
Mowbray, who took over in February 2017, led Rovers to promotion from League One last season and has guided them into the top half of the Championship.
His current deal expires at the end of the season, but club chief executive Steve Waggott told the Lancashire Telegraph: "It will be looked at.
“We want to have discussions with Tony not just about triggering an option of another year but in terms of a more long-term basis. We have started very tentative discussions, not on a formal level, but saying that we will look at his contract situation moving forward.”
