MY VIEW: EXCITING / END TO END AS CARDIFF CITY TODAY

Postby Forever Blue » Sat Oct 20, 2018 3:51 pm

MY VIEW/OPINION

EXCITING/END TO END AS CARDIFF CITY TODAY FINALLY WON THEIR FIRST MATCH THIS SEASON :thumbright: :bluebird:

TWO RELEGATION THREATED CLUBS FOUGHT AND BATTLED AGAINST EACH OTHER / BUT WARNOCKS TEAM GOT WHAT THEY DESERVED THE 3PTS :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Gunnarsson, Murphy, Patterson and Reid all had a great game, plus over all the whole team gave everything and deserved the standing ovation by the Cardiff fans :ayatollah: :bluescarf:

The First-half Cardiff deservedly were leading, but allowed Fulham to make it 2-2 and finishing the half the better team.

The second-half was Cardiff and Fulham attacking each other non stop and it was anyones game.

Cardiff City went in to this match looking for their first win of the season whilst their opponents Fulham had just won once and had conceded 21 goals.

Fulham are the only side yet to keep a Premier League clean sheet this season.

CARDIFF CITY 4 FULHAM 2 :bluebird: :bluebird:
Crowd 29.681 :bluebird:
Away Support 1,650 (Fulham)

Cardiff City: Etheridge, Manga, Morrison, Bamba, Bennett, Camarasa, Arter, Murphy, Gunnarsson, Paterson, Reid

Subs :Alex Smithies Jazz Richards Greg Cunningham Loic Damour Kadeem Harris Junior Hoilett Kenneth Zohore

With only 11mins gone Fulham scored, Schurrle cut inside and fired in a rocket from 30-yards, fantastic goal 0-1

Then Josh Murphy scored in the 15th min to make it 1-1, City deserved the equaliser, fter threatening to score before, Murphy got himself in more space, leaving Chambers for dead and slots it in the bottom corner. :bluebird: :bluebird:

20th min Bobby Reid ran through to slot under Bettinelli! and make it 2-1 :bluebird: :bluebird: Reids first goal for City :bluebird: :bluebird:

34thmin Fulham scored out of nothing and it had to be Ryan Sessegnon

Fulham then made some tactical changes and finished the first-half the better team.

H/T 2-2

Fulham's Alfie Mawson came on for Callum Chambers who was injured.

The second-half was Cardiff and Fulham attacking each other non stop and it was anyones game.

65thmin A scrappy goal, the ball found its way to Paterson near the edge of the box and he squeezed a shot into the bottom corner. 3-2 :thumbright: :thumbright: :bluebird: :bluebird: :bluebird:

Mitrovic v Morrison turned into a real battle.

Gunnarsson was subbed to a standing ovation - replaced by Jazz Richards :bluebird:

Neil Etheridge made a great save in the final minutes :bluebird:

Kadeem Harris in the final minutes sealed the win for Cardiff City :bluebird: :bluebird:

F/T 4-2

I have to admit I couldn't see this happening today but boy was I wrong and I'm delighted to be. This will do wonders for the team's confidence and I see us improving game on game. I just hope we can give a good performance next week and not let anything dent our rising confidence :ayatollah:

Yep great performance and result, watched the game as usual in Malta via bein sports and with what i saw Ralls will do well to get back in that midfield.
Thought midfield really good and my motm would be Murphy,in all honesty should of used him more he could of got a couple sent off.
And deffo a pen for handball ref was not good mitrovic milked him.

Wasn’t confident, heading into this, but our team were immense. Deserved every part of that win.

It must be said, Fulham were dire. What happened to this supposed fantastic footballing side? What I saw was the worst back four performance I’ve seen all season against us, and perhaps the worst goalkeeping performance I’ve witnessed in a long time. Absolutely shocking - can see them changing their manager soon. There’s a hint to them of the kind of clinical finishing that we’ve witnessed from the established PL teams this year but, beyond that, I thought they were shocking.

We need to work on not letting teams actually score every damn time they get a shot on target, but that’s a focus for another time. Let’s just enjoy this win, for now. We earned it.

What a performance. Gunnars did well. Hard to think he's been out for so long.

Fulham are going down. They are proper woeful. From support... To players... To manager! Only poor sessegnon came over to clap the away fans. Shocking!

Excellent performance today, brilliant atmosphere and erll deserved win.

Fulham were poor but we made them struggle with the high pressing. Hard to believe they spent 100m and have that back four and keeper.

Can't fault the effort today, great match but useless ref and we shipped another two goals which still worries me. Camarasa was my stand out player. even the annoying drums didn't get on my nerves after Patterson scored.

Our defence worries me especially Morrison and the positioning of our full backs but who cares when we can put four in the net.

Very encouraging . Confidence will improve from here. Some great performances but particularly pleased with Gunnarsson who surprised me with a display which shows that he is capable of carrying out the problem role in midfield .
We've been up to standard for last few games and it's starting to firm up
