VAR - is it needed, would it have helped?

Loads of decisions in the first 4 matches so far shown in MOTD that would have benefited from VAR today

Not for me. I think when it comes in that's my last season ticket.

Maybe but then decisions could go against you with var?
Take today handball 50/50 pull back could say wasn't goal denying position as defenders around him plus
He wasn't actually in possession ! At end day it's refs interpretation of what happened with or without var.

Murphy Pulled back - last man (debatable) - would have been in on goal - should have been red

Man City - 2nd goal - off side, ball out of play..... shouldn’t have been a goal

Kompany booked for studs high challenge on Lennon - should have been straight red

Just 3 of many decisions that VAR would/should pick up

There are pro’s and con’s for VAR, I’m still not 100% on it but feel that if it helped with these kinds of decisions then it’s going to make football a lot fairer for all....

100% needs to come in.

UEFA have already announced it’ll be coming into their tournaments next season.

Surely the Premier League will do the same - there’s a lot of money at stake and a goal that should have been given but isn’t can cost clubs millions.

Things like this in the Premier League are decided by a vote from the 20 clubs. They voted against it for this season. I hope they vote in favour of it for next season, when the time comes.

Pull back one other defender nearby different situation yes could been red but doubt if var would have reversed decision! Stats show var get 98% right without var 95%, but as world cup shown it does not get right decision everytime as like said ref interpretes what he sees and var won't change that? Var Will take the excitement out game and will not stop the arguments will it? Guarantee if decision went against city like the handball the argument will be same it was accidental
