Amazingly after 9 games, there's never been a bigger divide in the Premiership as there is this season!
The bottom 8 this year have a total of 43 points after 9 games. The previous 10 year's average after 9 games for the bottom 8 is 61.4 points!
Total Points by bottom 8 after 9 games:
18/19 - 43
17/18 - 61
16/17 - 60
15/16 - 61
14/15 - 67
13/14 - 61
12/13 - 51
11/12 - 59
10/11 - 69
09/10 - 62
08/09 - 63
Even when West Brom survived with 34 points, that year the bottom 8 had 57 points after 9 games.
If the big 6 continue to beat everybody else, I don't even think we'll need 34 points to survive this year. How many points do you think we'll need?

Oh my gosh...panic everyone!!
Things happen, trends are bucked and statistics are just statistics.
Otherwise, we should all go by the past, play out the season on paper.

The next lowest on the list is 2012/13 and Wigan finished 18th that season with 36 points. So I wouldn't read too much into it

What’s the need of that general chat
OP is just usin statistics
And based on what they have said it’s not unbelievable to think 34 might again be enough this year
I find those statistics encouraging personally

Statistics can mean anything you want them to mean, but generally mean nothing.
The combined low total of lower teams this year is partly pure chance and partly the fact that the top moneyball teams have become more and more unbeatable and high scoring .

I said before the season started we will likely only need around 33 points to survive and I still think that’s the case. I can’t see either Fulham or Huddersfield getting to 30 so that’s two down and only need to finish above one other like I’ve always said we are easily as good as around 5 or 6 clubs that will be down and around the bottom come the end of the season.

The bottom line on this is that after a bad start and 9 games we have not been cut adrift, and that is a fact. We are also learning and improving so that gives me hope for staying up.

Lol, not having a go, just saying like.
Did you know that 74.63% of all statistics are made up on the spot?

Here's another statistic to ponder over.
Don't forget that after next Saturday we will have played the top 6 teams in 10 games. There will be 28 more games after that and we can only play them collectively 6 more times. I think cause for some optimism.
