The 'friendship' between these two clubs is akin to that of Cardiff and them Jacks...

Some of those kicking off against each other last night probably shared a bus on the way to work this morning.

Although Stoke only took their under-21 side to Vale Park for the Check-a-Trade Trophy match, more than 4,000 of their fans bought tickets for what has been a rare clash in recent times.
Video on social media showed supporters of both clubs trading blows in the streets before kick-off and the hostilities continued inside the ground, which hosted a total attendance of around 8,000.
Staffordshire Police said "considerable damage" was caused to sections of the away stand, with seats, toilets and windows all broken.

Remember going up there in 88(Lost 6-1)..one guy jumped in with us, and was knocked out cold on the terrace by one of our one punch specials. Bit a thud as he hit the deck.

Went to port vale 4 years ago in league cup. Area near ground was dodgy. We won three two and the local chavs stoned the supporters bus. Only about 200 made the trip.

I was on that coach! It hit the window two in front of me, but did not come through the glass. Double glazing, I think. Smashed the outside pane, but did not come through. And Federico Macheda scored a couple of goals!

Febrile atmosphere at the Checkatrade Trophy clash erupted into violence as objects rained onto the pitch
At least 12 people were arrested, while one steward was led away injured, apparently after being hit by chair
Police condemned people who were 'intent' on causing violence and said they were looking for the culprits
There were shocking scenes of hooliganism last night as Stoke City fans trashed Port Vale's stadium, attacked police and pelted the pitch with bottles and flares.

They did indeed, everyone was in Canton while Stoke walked from Pub to Pub in the Centre.
One of the biggest hidings ever dished out at NP was when we played them home circa 1979.

I wasn't out for it mate was still on my ban for the game at their place, but remember the phone calls. I'v always rated Stoke they seem to have been one of the most consistent mobs out there over the last 20 years. Whereby the bans and jail sentences finished us off them and Millwall never seemed to give it up.

If it was the time they bought loads as mentioned by RV, they certainly didn't get chased out of the POW. We only had about 10 in there, luckily for us they weren't bullies.

Your'e right, they came twice, the first time they got a hard time which is the game your'e on about, that's why they came back and rocked up at the POW the second time but as Rhondda says hardly anyone in there.
