West Ham and Newcastle reportedly eye Cardiff’s Sol Bamba

Friday 7th December 2018

West Ham United, Newcastle United and Fulham reportedly want Cardiff City’s Sol Bamba.

West Ham United, Newcastle United and Fulham are interested in signing Sol Bamba from Cardiff City in the January transfer window, according to Calciomercato.it.

It has been reported that Cardiff could want between €3 million (£2.67m) and €4m (£.3.56m) in order to sell the former Leeds United defender in the middle of the season - which would be a bargain fee for any club interested in him.

Good defender

Bamba joined Cardiff in October 2016 following his departure from Leeds, and the Ivory Coast international has established himself as a key figure in Neil Warnock’s side.

The central defender has scored two goals and provided one assist in 14 Premier League appearances for the Bluebirds so far this season, according to WhoScored.

30th November 2018, Cardiff City Stadium, Cardiff, Wales; EPL Premier League football, Cardiff City versus Wolverhampton Wanderers; Sol Bamba and Neil Etheridge of Cardiff City discuss...

According to WhoScored, the 33-year-old has made 2.4 tackles, 2.6 interceptions and 7.4 clearances per game on average so far this campaign.

Unlikely exit?

Cardiff are in danger of getting relegated to the Championship at the end of the season, and it is hard to see manager Warnock letting Bamba - who earns £8,000 per week as salary, according to Spotrac.com - leave in the January transfer window.

He's attending the Press Conference with Neil Warnock this morning, so maybe something will be said...

We need Sol Bamba to aid our Premier League survival quest! :ayatollah:

Not a chance.

If this is the way we are going to get manga playing in the middle then it looks like Teresa may is the one doing the negotiations!

Absolutely mate.
A lot of people on here bemoan him - too many mistakes, drop him for Manga etc. Silly people!
He’s been awesome for us since day one. Our most valuable player alongside Morrison.

Paul, it would be madness to let Sol go. He is a colossus in our team and a great partner for Sean Morrison :thumbright:

I like Manga but he does give me palpitations on times; particularly when he moves upfield! :laughing6:

Nothing in the press conference either :ayatollah:

irrespective if you think he should start or not he is still an important part of the squad although he is almost 34.

Don't think Warnock would let Bamba go for 10 mill... unless he wanted out of course.

Nothing story.

Occasionally at the back; but Manga (a decent defender) turns attack into defence far too easily and far too often for me! :(

Sven my old mate, Warnock will not allow his son to leave us.You know that.

Re: REPORTS: SOL BAMBA WANTED BY...

Well he's one of the players who'd be targeted by carpet baggers if we got relegated isn't he ?
If that happened there'd be a rush to pick up our better players, but let's hope that never arises

Re: REPORTS: SOL BAMBA WANTED BY...

He's still under contract so if we are going to sell him to any of our relegation rivals we'd be absolutely stupid.

Having said that, everybody has a price so tell West Ham and Fulham (Ashley's too tight to pay anything so Newcastle can be ruled out) that the bidding starts at £40m or we'll do a straight swap for either Arnautovic or Mitrovic.

Or better still, tell them all to f**k off.

Can you imagine sol playing for anyone other than us?! Nah... doubt he can too!

Plus he'd be found out and villified. We can put up with the odd 'moment' cos he's ours.

Warnock wouldn't swap him for Van dijk so why would he virtually go e him away? Irreplaceable!
