MATCH THREAD: “ WATFORD v CARDIFF CITY “ MATCH THREAD

Cardiff City take on Watford today, looking for their first away victory in the Premier League this season.





This will be the first ever top-flight meeting between Watford and Cardiff, and the first in any competition since December 2014 (4-2 win for Watford in the second tier).




Cardiff City have lost just one of their previous seven games against Watford in all competitions (W3 D3), although that was in the most recent meeting.




Cardiff City are winless in their last nine Premier League away games (D1 L8), scoring just three goals and conceding 22 goals in that run.



Following their win against Southampton last week, Cardiff City are looking to secure consecutive top-flight victories for the first time since April 1962.



This will be Cardiff manager Neil Warnock’s first game against Watford since November 2012, when his Leeds United side were beaten 6-1 by the Hornets in a Championship fixture.

About time Murphy starting away, could be vital to us, especially with NML to come off the bench. Can see us at least picking a point.

A magnificent solo effort from that man Gerard Deulofeu, ghosting through the tackles before slotting a cool finish beyond Neil Etheridge.

It was given away by Gunnarsson in the middle to allow the Spaniard to pick it up and drive at Cardiff.

I’d switch both Wingers at half time tbh. Neither has been good enough.

I was hoping we would go with 2 wingers and have a go. It's mystifying want he plays Hoillet every time. Let's hope Warnock makes a sub 1/2 time!
NML replaces JH and we give it a go.We won't stay up If we continue to defend every away game. Not good enough to keep clean sheets - even with Etheridge doing great.

I think the other two wingers are better suited to the prem than the two we started but other than that yeah it’s probably our strongest team. Can’t see us scoring so think this will end up a 1-0 loss.
