Yes but that's football never know until final whistle what's going to happen? But the away games have familiar patterns hard to see us winning away unless change things in new year.

Ifs and buts. We should've beaten Burnley 5-0 but didn't!

The main thing is our players NEVER give up and neither do our fans! For that reason I think we're staying up.

Can't wait for next weekend. I'm calling the best atmosphere new stadium has seen. Late kick off. Under the lights. Few merry Christmas beers. Get up and at them. Just fingers crossed for a result!

Those 2 goals could be the difference between 17th & 18th come the end of the season.

Never thought wed get anything out of that game - knew it'd be high scoring though and we might easily have gotten a point.
I had it marked down for no points though and it wasn't crushing. The boys dud very well against a team you can't predict and Sir Neil played the best possible strategy.
I think we'll get a draw or a surprise win against Manchester United though.

Etheridge proves Cardiff's hero

Just two places separated Watford and Cardiff in the table before kick-off but the first half demonstrated a real gulf in class between the two sides.

But despite the defeat, Cardiff head home with a lot to thank goalkeeper Etheridge for. He produced save after save, single-handedly preventing Pereyra from scoring a hat-trick with less than an hour played.

Despite their lacklustre first-half performance, they weren't without their chances though and Harry Arter almost played Josh Murphy in on goal with a sliding cross midway through.

A rare moment of Watford carelessness was capitalised on by the visitors as Quina played the ball straight into their possession and Hoilett was able to put in a cross, which floated just high of Callum Paterson in the box.

It was in the second half that they found another gear with some slick play involving Nathaniel Mendez-Laing putting the pressure on the hosts.

Hoilett had a chance on goal before his and his side's perseverance was rewarded when he curled the ball in past Ben Foster, before Reid capitalised on a scramble in the box to poke home.
