Everton make huge decision over future of Oumar Niasse

The striker has not been named in the squad for the last 12 league matches

Everton are looking to sell Oumar Niasse in the January transfer window.

The striker has not been named in the squad for the last 12 league matches and the Blues are open to offers for the 28-year-old.

Niasse played for Marco Silva at Hull City, when on loan from Everton in 2017, but has managed just four substitute appearances in the league this season with the Portuguese manager preferring Richarlison, Cenk Tosun and Dominic Calvert-Lewin upfront.

Cardiff City have been credited with showing interest in the Senegal international, but only to take Niasse on loan, who has struggled to hold down a place in the side ever since joining from Lokomotiv Moscow in early 2016 for £13.5m.

Niasse came close to leaving Everton for Crystal Palace in the summer of 2017 but his proposed £7m switch fell through at the 11th hour.

And Everton, who were forced to take a near £12m hit on Davy Klaassen this summer, may also have to accept less than they paid for Niasse nearly three years ago.

Have to admit to not seeing him play and not knowing much about him. Sounds like a big gamble but then most strikers in this situation are.
If it happens I hope Warnock gets this one right!

That’s true but we can’t afford another mistake like Madine.
Signing a decent striker that can net a few is crucial in January.
