It was probably his wages that went against him in the end, rather than performances.

25 man squad went against him, would have picked him before Reid every time.

The East Anglian Daily Times claims Ipswich Town have missed out on signing Anthony Pilkington, with the Irishman reportedly snubbing the Tractor Boys in favour of a move to Wigan Athletic.

He’s out of contract in the summer I doubt he will be paid off

good attitude but 4 years here and no one knows what position he plays. would come in fill a gap, look decent for 2/3 games and then become a 5/10 player until left out again. flattered to deceive.
i do wish him all the best as he seems genuine but i will not miss him.

If Pilks was on £20k/wk the 6 months remaining on his contract would have cost £500,000 to pay off.

Not necessarily. May have come to an agreement. He has signed on an 18 month deal. Say that’s 8,000 a week it’s only a shortfall of 12,000 over those 6 months and that’s made up over the next year.

The time had come for him to finaly leave,,, & I salute his professionalisum while at our club,,,, theres no doubt of that.
Best of luck Anthony.
