No murphy again!

Sat Jan 19, 2019 5:24 pm

Yet another game where murphy didnt start and another game where we create nothing and yet another game where we have wingers who cant go past and beat their man.

Murphy needs to start imo because hes the fastest, trickiest most creative winger with the best goal threat we have got.

Warnock is doing to him what Mourinho did to Pogba.

Saying he needs to defend better.

Our biggest attacking threat should just be sent out there to attack

Have constantly argued that Murphy is our best attacking threat but because he didn’t track back against Bournemouth he seems to be regularly overlooked. Far better than Hoilett, he has pace, beats defenders, a decent cross and an excellent shot on him. What’s the point of him coming on today in the 82nd minute. We were already 2 down a long time earlier.
Murphy would have been excellent against Huddersfield & Newcastle.

In your words "our best attacking threat" falls over 95% of the time and doesn't win a free kick and rightly so. He loses the ball way too often than we can afford, and he's not shown any sort of quality since september. Everyone needs a reality check.

You literally just described Hoilett all season  Falls over all the time, loses the ball, cant pass and shown no quality since may last year. At least Murphy can beat an oppostion full back, and has some pace, what does Hoilett contribue offensively appart from running in circles like he's chasing his own tail.

murphy and reid definitely should have started after that woeful display against Huddersfield and ward should have played instead of Paterson. he's done nothing for weeks now so what's the point in him being there if we haven't mustered a shot on goal in the last 5 games.

Starting the same attacking players who done f**k all against huddersfield today is shocking

Mate no offence but NML and hoilett were so poor against huddersfield and newcastle today. They are way below the required standard and i feel sorry for sala playing with these two. Murphy showed beginning of the season his quality at this level so unlike hoilett and NML he has showed he can do it at this level so he should be starting. Also give harris a chance too cant get worse

Murphy will not start away games while Warnock is our manager.

Because he doesn’t track back anywhere near as much as players like Hoilett, he’ll only get appearances from the bench when we’re away.

I wouldn’t say I agree with Warnock on that, but I don’t disagree either. Very much on the fence on that subject.

There is a strong case for him to start in home games against teams outside the top six. He normally creates a couple of chances for the forwards.

But Murphy can't defend, so you can't pick him when you know the opposition's full backs like to get forward...

But if NML and hoilett do nothing for us to score goals then whats the point in having them in the team? If we dont score goals we will go down simple as that. Alright murphy might not defend as well but a decision needs to be made do we want to threaten and score goals and win games or do we want to continue to focus on defending not conceding and getting draws and losing games because we are not scoring as well which is sending us further and further down. We wont survive if we aint scoring goals simple as that.

come on mate, a main stay CB out, our 2 most defensive CMs out and you want players that have zero interest in tracking back in there as well. yesterday certainly wasn't the day sorry.

Fair point but i still think murphy needs to start and more trust given in him to track back hopefully he can show warnock he can do it soon
