I think I agree with you. Way past his best and I remember the expectations some had when we signed Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink, and that excitement was short lived.

JFH had a good season and significantly improved the players around him.

i think he'd be a great addition - May not have 90 minutes in him now but the quality he'd add would make it worth it IMO

Cheap contract til end of season would be perfect

This. He may not be what he used to be but his presence alone should boost morale and improve the team. Plus his free kicks...c'mon they're good. Still think he has it in him, positively and hopefully.

C'mon Yaya, you know it makes sense. :bluebird: :bluescarf: :ayatollah:

Absolutely correct 5 years past his best..would be an expensive flop

Yep signing the name not the playing ability

Afraid some fans appear to be starstruck, and are easily impressed by big name players. We need players who can do a job now, not players who were good in years gone by.

This guy is practically the same age as Sol Bamba...

Stop over reacting.

Possibly the biggest name (Jorn Schwinkendorf apart) ever to be linked with us? :?

Can you imagine Bluebirds supporters singing THAT song for him? :ayatollah:

He's not a winger guys. End of the day. You get someone in the center of the park. His quality pulling the strings would be insane.

Worrying the lack of football knowledge some have.

The role he plays it doesn't matter. He's never had pace!

Sol Bamba who is part of a defence with the second worst goals conceded column in the PL. If Toure is still Premier League quality, why would he want to join in a relegation fight. If he as good as some are making him out to be, I am sure there are other Premier League clubs far better placed than us who would jump at the chance to sign him.

He was lazy at Man City. We are not good enough to carry players.

His agent gave an interview today with a French newspaper in which he claimed Yaya is prepared to play for a Top 6 PL club for just £1 per week plus bonuses. Apparently he wants to get even with Guardiola for forcing him out of Manchester City.

Doesn't sound like a player who fancies a bottom 3 club though does it.

If this is a realistic possibility and it's pay for play and on the understanding that he wouldn't start automatically then obviously we should do it, especially if we're in any doubt about Harry Arter staying.
He may well stil be able to play a full game, but I expect he'd be a great bonus off the bench at least .
As someone above there has wisely said, the boost to morale alone would be worth it.

Not sure if he was lazy or just unsettled there towards the end. No doubting he was a quality player, but I thought he looked way past his best in his later PL games. It's all about opinions, and personally I think he is not the sort of luxury we can afford for a tough relegation battle. If he is still a genuine PL class act, he won't be joining a relegation battle any time soon.

Without giving the source you heard it from away, why do you think it's legit?

No it doesn't but then would a top 6 team want him? As bench warmer maybe but not 1st team player ..
