Sol Bamba:

Postby Forever Blue » Sat Feb 09, 2019 8:09 pm

Cardiff captain Sol Bamba told Premier League Productions:

“It's been a tough couple of weeks. We knew we had to come here and get a result and it wasn't easy. But to put in a performance like this is very good and we're very pleased at the end.

"It's a massive boost, especially at this stage of the season. We want to build momentum and have a run of games so it was good to get the win today and hopefully we can build on that.

"It can't get better, scoring the first goal in front of our fans. A lot goes through your mind. I know Emiliano Sala was looking from up there so it's good to get the three points."

Bamba has been a City legend since his first goal vs Bristol City. Yes he's got a mistake in him, who doesn't. He's got better and better as he's adapted to the new prem challenge. one club united and he epitomise us as a club!!!

Legend!!!

A true fans player gives it everything true passion and that makes him bluebird .That's what we ask for as fans and bamba gives it.
Making his way to become a legend at city the club means a lot to him and he means a lot to us.
That last Christmas song we sang to him was brilliant to haaa

Very true in what you say.
He epitomises everything our club has been about in the last couple of years.
Yes, he makes the odd mistake but who doesn’t?? All defenders do but I wouldn’t swap him for anybody right now. I can only imagine how good he is in and around the training ground and dressing room as well.
Loves him me.

I think Bamba is my favourite ever signing. Juggernaut in defence, bicycle kick attempts off every other set piece, awesome celebrations and always a smile in the interviews.

One of these days a bicycle is going in and oh my days the CCS is going to collapse in celebrations. Scenes.

He is on the sky sports football centre now. He looks about 7foot tall compared to the host. Broke some fans glasses when he went into the crowd. Legend.

I agree with all of this and more, but I know that the next time he makes a mistake people will forget his massive efforts and achievements and be calling him all sorts of things.

A truer word I’ve not heard on this forum for a while!
Posters are so up & down on here. One mistake and it’ll be - drop him for Morrison & Manga, etc, etc.
The same with most of our players. Some on here can’t accept players make mistakes - otherwise they’d be playing for Barcelona!

Sadly we know this to be all too true!

I would agree that Sol Bamba is everything a Cardiff fan could wish for. having followed the city since the 70s he goes down as one of my favourate characters ever to don the blue shirt.
I normally occupy a seat in 114 in the Ninian and enjoy the company of fellow fans who support all the efforts made on the field in a positive manner, however I was up the back of the stand in the Southampton match and a so-called city fan spent 90 minutes screaming abuse at our players on any occasion when a pass went astray or a tackle was missed. I dont think its understood that we have a so-called inferior team which puts in such an effort to make up for our deficiencies. We are blessed with a GREAT squad :ayatollah: :bluescarf: :bluebird:
