What the bookies are saying about Wales' Euro 2020 qualifying hopes

Thursday 21st March 2019

Bookmakers are struggling to separate Wales and Slovakia when it comes to landing second spot in their Euro 2020 qualifying group.

Chris Coleman led the Red Dragons to the Euro finals for the first time in the most recent edition of the competition in France.

And Ryan Giggs' troops are perhaps surprisingly huge odds-on favourites to reach the next edition of the prestigious event which will be held across Europe in just over two years.

Sky Bet are offering odds of 1/8 for Wales to reach the competition.

But it appears Slovakia will be Wales' closest rivals in their qualifying group when it comes to challenging for second spot.

World Cup finalists Croatia are huge favourites to win Group E, which also contains Hungary and Azerbaijan.

And bookmakers are unable to separate Wales and Slovakia when it comes to who will take the all-important second place in the group.

Both Wales and Slovakia - who face off at Cardiff City Stadium on Sunday afternoon - are 5/1 with 888Sport to win Group E.

And they are offering odds of 9/10 for Wales to finish in the top two of the group, the exact same price given for Slovakia.

Croatia are 2/5 favourites to win Group E while they are 1/10 to finish in the top two and qualify for Euro 2020.
