The Bluebirds are unchanged from that sensational win on the south coast. Interesting to see Aron Gunnarsson get the nod given that it sounded like he may have been struggling this week.

Warnock relishing Liverpool test

The gaffer is clearly looking forward to this afternoon’s huge clash, and insists his team are ready to rise to the challenge posed by Jurgen Klopp’s side, who’ve lost just once in the league in 2019 and come into this game on the back of an eight-match winning streak in all competitions.

“It’s fantastic to be invovled in a fixture like this: against one of the very best teams in the world at the moment and in front of a full house.
“Realistically, Liverpool have got a great chance of winning the league and the Champions League next month, but we’ve got to approach today’s game in the right manner and put in a performance so as to give them a really good game.
“Our record against the top six has been poor, we know that, although we’ve pushed some of them really close (I won’t go into the Chelsea game again!) and are looking forward to pitting our wits against some of the world’s best again today.
“The lads are ready for the challenge and know they can play some good football. We’ll need everybody to be on top of the game so that we don’t get punished, but that’s something we’ve been preparing for since the midweek game.
“Some of the pundits were saying our game against Brighton on Tuesday would be a home win and effectively our last real fixture in the Premier League this season.
“As ever, we enjoyed proving them all wrong and gave our fans a fantastic night.”
