Hearing Liverpool fans chanting “Sala’s in the sea, in the sea, Sala’s in the sea” to the Cardiff support. Disgusting.
Liverpool fans heard mocking late Cardiff striker Emiliano Sala with DISGUSTING chant
Some Liverpool fans appear to be bringing their fan-base to shame today with some disgusting chants mocking the late Emiliano Sala.
The former Nantes striker sealed a transfer to Cardiff City back in January, but never ended up playing for the club as he died in a plane crash shortly before he was due to complete his move to Wales.
Sala’s death has been mourned by everyone at Cardiff, though some opposition fans have occasionally embarrassed themselves by mocking the accident.
This notably happened with a Southampton fan, who was banned from games by his club after mimicking a plane in the direction of Cardiff supporters.
And today, a few people on Twitter are suggesting Liverpool fans are doing similar with chants about Sala being ‘in the sea’…

God this is getting boring. Are we really going to get these threads after every match?
Every club has idiots that will chant anything they can to wind up the opposition, we know this. Cardiff fans mocked the death of a Swansea player week in week out en masse for years.
Time this was put to bed.

Football website forced to apologise for baseless and harmful report on Liverpool fans at Cardiff
Jack Lusby

A prominent football website has been forced to issue a decidedly halfhearted apology after reporting claims made against Liverpool fans at Cardiff on Sunday.
It was alleged that travelling Reds at the weekend’s 2-0 win directed a chant at deceased Cardiff striker Emiliano Sala, who lost his life flying to south Wales from Nantes in January.
This stemmed from a Twitter user with the handle @lilduckcity, who claimed fans sang “Sala’s in the sea, in the sea, Sala’s in the sea,” while another, @SaucySterIing, described their behaviour as a “disgrace.”
CaughtOffside picked this up and, without corroboration, reported that “a few people on Twitter” suggested Liverpool supporters had “embarrassed themselves by mocking the accident.”
“It’s worth noting that despite initial claims from a few accounts on Twitter, there does not seem to have been further mention of anything untoward going on,” editor-in-chief Mark Brus wrote, but the damage was already done.

These claims were refuted by fans of both clubs in attendance, and Liverpool CEO Peter Moore, who was at the game, contacted CaughtOffside directly to discuss the report.
