Cardiff City player unsure about his future – ‘It’s up to both parties’

Monday 22nd April 2019

A week ago, we covered reports from Spain about the future of Víctor Camarasa.

It’s been said that the player has turned down the chance of staying at Cardiff City, since he’s been waiting for ‘better proposals’ to move in the summer.

Camarasa is currently loaned to the Premier League side by Real Betis, and his contract says he should return to Spain at the end of the season.

Now in an interview with Radio Marca Sevilla, the 24-year-old doesn’t sound very certain about his future. He’s claimed he still doesn’t know if Betis will want him back, and that could have a big impact for him once his loan spell ends.

“I have a contract with Betis and I’ve been very happy there, I’ve felt very comfortable,” Camarasa told Radio Marca (via El Desmarque).

“We’ll see about my future, it’s up to both parties, I still can’t say anything because I don’t know what Betis wants. I’ll do the preseason and you’ll see.”

Camarasa has five goals and four assists in 31 games for Cardiff City this season. When covering the interview, El Desmarque only says he’s been ‘fighting against relegation’ in the Premier League, but doesn’t even mention the possibility of a permanent move.

Our chances of keeping him are minimal.

We would have to stay in the premier league to have a chance, but I cant see us being able to afford him permanently, we might get lucky and manage a second loan.

I think we would get outbid by a few clubs for his signature around £20mill

Cardiff City's Victor Camarasa addresses uncertainty over future

The Bluebirds' on-loan player is said to be attracting attention from several Premier League clubs

Daily Mirror

The Bluebirds' on-loan player is said to be attracting attention from several Premier League clubs

Cardiff City's Victor Camarasa has addressed the uncertainty over his future, admitting he doesn't know what parent club Real Betis' plans for him are.

He moved to the Welsh capital on a season-long loan last year and he is reportedly set to be moved on from Betis this summer.

Reports in Spain have said Premier League clubs including West Ham, Leicester City and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in a summer swoop.

Now, Camarasa has now publicly addressed the uncertainty over his future, admitting he is unsure of what Betis' plans are for him.

In an interview with Radio Marca Sevilla (via El Desmarque), the midfielder said: "I have a contract with Betis and I’ve been very happy there, I’ve felt very comfortable.

"We’ll see about my future, it’s up to both parties, I still can’t say anything because I don’t know what Betis wants. I’ll do the pre-season and you’ll see."

It comes after reports that the Cardiff player rejected a permanent move to south Wales and is surplus to requirements at his parent club.

Spanish publication Diario de Sevilla reported Camarasa will be moved on in the summer, after rejecting the chance to sign for the Bluebirds in January.

Tottenham, Leicester and West Ham have been linked with his services before, with Camarasa being valued at around £15million.

The on-loan Spaniard, who joined the Bluebirds last August on a season-long loan from La Liga side Real Betis, has proved to be a key player for Neil Warnock, but has suffered from injury at points during the campaign.

The 24-year-old has scored five goals so far this term.

There as absolutely zero chance of Camarasa being at Cardiff next season.

Regardless of whichever league we're in.

Sadly, I agree :(

There's more chance of a positive, supportive pro-City thread/post from Dahboy and the bookies said that whilst they were in the betting business to make money, accepting some bets felt almost fraudulent in their eyes
