With regards to the club going forward many of the creditors have been paid off and settled in full and this is thanks to the hard work, committment and endeavour of the Malaysians. There were many smaller creditors that the club had that were unpaid, some as low as £5k, but thankfully the club is moving forward and settling these companies.
PMG ( Paul Guy and Mike Hall ) are due a payment on September 1st for £2 million as part of the structure of paying the loan the club borrowed for the shortfall in the stadium build cost. I am told that PMG want the money on this date and expect it. This is on top of the recent change in how the Premier seats are sold, they will no longer be sold on a match to match basis.
I know that through Sam Hammam, Langstone are not applying any pressure on the Malaysians and are affording them the tine to deal with other immediate issues such as PMG and also Ray Ranson's company, which is owed £2.5million. Ranson's sports fund will take a percentage of any transfer money the club receive until their debt is settled. I understand that the percentage changes when the transfer amount received exceeds £500K.
I am told that the figure agreed between Leeds and City for Ross is £300k and if Ross leaves it will clear £8k pw off the wage bill.
I know there were rumours abound of a big name signing today but that has not materialised, I have never said there would be a signing today, despite what others are saying. With regards to Chris Riggot, the player is still training with the squad and he is keen to sign for us but the coaching staff are taking their time on making a decision on him as they want to make sure he is not suffering from his previous knee injuries. So far Riggott has performed well at training.
The many people I speak too, some have spoken of their concern regarding City's transfer policy at present. What they are saying is that it is superb we are signing the likes of Koumas, Bellamy and Olifinjana but they are still only loan players and we are not asset building. They are still very thankful for what the Malaysians have done and are doing but feel we need to be bringing in younger players too who can progress at our club.
