Perry Ng has been named in the WhoScored Championship Team of the Season :ayatollah:


Using their unique rating system, WhoScored.com take a look at their Championship Team of the Season, with Leicester, Ipswich, Leeds and Southampton among those represented in the XI.



CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM OF THE SEASON

Goalkeeper: John Ruddy (Birmingham) - 6.79 rating

Birmingham were relegated on the final day of the season but their drop into League One would have been confirmed sooner had it not been for John Ruddy's performances between the sticks. Ruddy ranked second for saves (151) and had the fourth best save success rate (70.2%) to return a WhoScored.com rating of 6.79.

Right-back: Perry Ng (Cardiff) - 7.10 rating

Featuring at right-back in this XI is Cardiff man Perry Ng, who landed a WhoScored.com rating of 7.10 this season. The 28-year-old got forward well having scored six and provided four assists, while 109 tackles ranked third in England's second tier.

Centre-back: Wesley Hoedt (Watford) - 7.07 rating

Watford's Wesley Hoedt exhibited his impressive reading of the game on more than one occasion this season with 77 interceptions the third most in the division. The Hornets man also won 165 aerial duels, the fifth most, to help land a WhoScored.com rating of 7.07.

Centre-back: Jacob Greaves (Hull) - 7.13 rating

Partnering Hoedt at the heart of the backline is Hull's Jacon Greaves, who earned a WhoScored.com rating of 7.13. Greaves finished the season with the second most aerial duels won (183) while 187 clearances was the ninth most.

Left-back: Leif Davis (Ipswich) - 7.15 rating

Rounding of the defence is Ipswich assist machine Leif Davis. The Tractor Boys left-back finished the campaign having made more key passes (125) and registered more assists (18) than any other player in the Championship as Ipswich secured their Premier League return.

Right midfield: Abdul Fatawu (Leicester) - 7.41 rating

Abdul Fatawu proved an inspired addition to this Leicester squad having finished the campaign with 13 assists to his name. The on-loan 20-year-old also created at least 10 more clear-cut goalscoring opportunities (32) and is the of two representatives from champions Leicester in the XI.

Central midfield: Gabriel Sara (Norwich) - 7.46 rating

Key to Norwich's successful playoff hunt was midfielder Gabriel Sara, who finished the regular season with a WhoScored.com rating of 7.46. Sara was one of only three players to finish the campaign with double figures for both goals (13) and assists (12) and fans are hoping he can carry that form into their semi-final meeting with Leeds.

Central midfield: Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall (Leicester) - 7.37 rating

Another to have registered double figures for goals (12) and assists (14), Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall was excellent as the Foxes made an immediate return to the Premier League as champions. The 25-year-old also created the third most clear-cut chances (20) in the division to cap a fine season.

Left midfield: Crysencio Summerville (Leeds) - 7.65 rating

With a WhoScored.com rating of 7.65, Leeds star Crysencio Summerville is the Championship Player of the Season. The 22-year-old has been attracting interest from Premier League sides and it's easy to see why having scored 19 and provided nine assists. Summerville also made the fourth most key passes (112) and completed the third most dribbles (98) in what was a memorable season.

Striker: Georginio Rutter (Leeds) - 7.37 rating

Joining Leeds teammate Summerville in the XI is striker Georginio Rutter, who ended the campaign with a WhoScored.com rating of 7.37. Not only did the Frenchman finish the season having made the second most clear-cut chances (22) but he also ranked second for assists (15) and second for successful dribbles (127) to feature on the frontline.

Striker: Adam Armstrong (Southampton) - 7.08 rating

Rounding off the team is Southampton striker Adam Armstrong. The Saints star was another to finish the campaign with double figures for both goals (21) and assists (13) with 34 direct goal involvements more than any other player as Armstrong earned a WhoScored.com rating of 7.08.

It’s done off all sorts of stats over the 46 games.

Szmodics was top scorer but obviously he didn’t rate that high due to games when he did nothing.

NG - Well Deserved. Hopefully it's added some ££'s to his value.

Ruddy is a shock. Great stats though!

Dewsbury-Hall has been a standout for me. He was too good for this league a couple of years ago on loan at Luton. I'd love for us to sign 'the next one of him' on a season long loan.
