An Ode.....

Wed Jan 06, 2010 5:33 pm

Sorry been off work all day and got bored -

Oh Chairman sitting there with an empty stare...
Are you missing money thats just not there?
Are you waiting for someone to like you?
Or plotting a fish tank in the loo?

To the travel-weary supporter stuck on a train
You're a sight he never wants to see again
To the board members, you're a heaven-sent gift
Just looking at you gives their wallets a lift.

Chairman, do you enjoy being slated every day?
Everyone wanting to have their say
All comments by people who just really care!
Whats happening to their club just isnt fair!

Chairman, you're a mystery
Who could be a part of history
A symbol of authority
are you truthful or is it me...?

Chairman this is your hour
so lift up your head dont be dour
time to make it all ok
Take us to where we want to stay

Are you a hero in disguise
or a hate figure brimming with lies?
You could be a Prince amongst men?
Or maybe one of many Chairman

Sorry to jump on the bandwagon, but here's an ode to Dave Jones

Standing in the dugout, with your arms crossed,
An emotionless face as another 3 points lost.
We were tactically outclassed, you didn't know what to do,
You reverted to type and played 4-4-2.

No screaming or shouting, no passion instilled,
The players are a mirror of you, no fight, they're weak willed.
We're in need of a leader, that just isn't there,
Someone with guts because your players don't care.

Maybe if they the saw their manager had the fortitude for a fight,
Maybe thats we would end up in the top flight.
Losing a 4 goal lead, you showed no grief or remorse,
You just head down the tunnel thinking of your game on the golf course.

Ridsdale has stuck with you, he loves the old 'Scouse,
Or maybe he just likes holidaying in your Florida house.
And when we lose you're not to blame,
It's all the fans fault for never 'playing the game'.

Your players don't like you, they show no respect,
To the point to we're in danger of having our Promotion hopes wrecked.
You just don't care, yours and your players bottle are lacking,
I think what we need is for Dave Joneses sacking.

But that won't happen, so it seems were stuck with you.
We'll just have to suffer - I hope our chances of promotion don't too.

The riddler stood on the burning deck
A string of season tickets round his neck
If you buy the first, you can have the last
You can stick your season tickets up your arse...

Hope you enjoy the read....It's not as explosive as some but it did bring back a lot of (painful) memories.

good work lads.. i have made one for merthyr tydfil fc...

our club filled with mystery,
the football league were destined to be,
we're running low on much needed cash,
unlike the days of gary wagers tash.

Sheppy and Carter are doing their bit,
and all the players in the tight fit kit,
the merthyr fans will always be there,
home or away they always care.

Our players with all the passion,
unlike the pros blowing cash on fashion,
hats of to the trust,
keeping the club afloat its them or bust.

Get to a game home or away,
your sure to have a cracking day,
go on the bus with the supporters club,
no matter what you'll end up in a pub.

Tez, Rewbs, Willo and Tubs,
they are wanted by many clubs,
The passions throughout,
and theres not a doubt,
that when match day arrives,
they are a just a few that always tries.

What the future holds were not sure,
Promotion, relegation were not fussed anymore,
cos the greatest that gift that life can give,
is to make sure that MTFC will always live!
