Diatribe from David McNally Norwich ity FC Chief Executive

Sun Oct 31, 2010 4:00 pm

I attended yesterdays game with a former colleague and friend who for many years was Chairman of NCFC Supporters Club.
He stayed at my Barry home on the Friday evening along with his wife and 12 year old grandson.

We had a few bevvies and a takeaway Indian meal on the Friday and plenty of friendly banter about the game. After a good FULL WELSH breakfast we departed early on Saturday morning so that my friends coud have a look around the place and visit the club shop. My friends grandson likes to purchase memorabilia from different away grounds so Grandad had to stump up £22 for a training top (it could have been worse - I let him use my amdassadors card for 10% discount) the more money into CCFC coffers the better.

Anyway enough of the background to my story - on leaving the club shop my friend spotted the aforementioned McNally and went over to have a chat to him. After a few minutes he beckoned me over to meet their Chief Executive near to the players entrance. I approached with a friendly handshake and wishing him all the best for a good day but not too good saying that Bellars and co will probably be to strong for NCFC in spite of their great start to the season - what he remarked to me in reply shook me to the core.

McNally said " Bellamy shouldn't even be playing for your lot who are a discrace to the football league" He went on on to say that we should have been thrown out of the league for misdemenours in the transfer market in particular reneging on the transfer fee owed to Motherwell over the purchase of Quinn. The diatribe continued to flow from his mouth saying that Bellamys agent creamed £175K from the arrangement which is money that should have gone into the grass roots of the game. He then went on to say that he was glad he worked for a club that was run properly and paid their due debts.

By now I was getting angry inside and didn't want to listen to any more from this bitter little shit. I remarked to my friend that I would see him later becuase I was unable to listen to any more diatribe from a bitter man (in truth although i'm now a Senior citizen I would have gladly lamped him one there and then)

Now I know that Norwich have a reputation as a friendly family club (no police yesterday bears testament to that) and Delia "Let's be having you" etc but my dilema is should I follow this up with a letter to their Chairman.

At the end of the day we all should be passionate about the club we support but do you all agree that he was very unprofessional talking unprompted to a supporter of an opposing team who is in the company of a good friend. As supporters we don't need to know all the gory details of agents etc - we just want our team to perform to thier best ability.

I note that he is Scottish by birth so Ii wonder if he has any previous connections with a certain Motherwell FC (hence the real reason for his outburst)

I don't post on here often but enjoy reading other peoples views so I await with anticipation to forum members thoughts.
ps
i have been a supporter since 1958 and really beleive that this is the season that we finally make it to the "promised" land

Spot on

f**k 'im as they say.

PS; I can't wait to Motherwell are at Aberdeen - I'll be going down to give John Boyle a mouthful. Might even purcahse a Bellamy 39 top to wind the bentshot up.

You bend over backwards to make Norwich supporters happy, you show
what a friendly club this can be, you greet their CE as warmly as possible...

and he pretty much spits in your face

I'd pass the story on to the media mate

What a rude little tw*t!!!

Make a paper plane with zoom airlines on the side and ask him whether he has paid all the staff and customers?

Well get used to this sort of diatribe because when we get to the Premier League next season there will be lots more of it. They don't want us in the Premier League. It's going to be fuun rubbing their noses in it and when we start beating the so called established Premier League teams you watch the boo boys coming out of the closet.

I would definatley take it further mate because at the end of the day it was unprofessional. It's not as if your on the board at CCFC so he should not be saying these things to you. Jelousy is a cruel thing :ayatollah: :ayatollah:
