First post for me, though ive followed the drift from life in exile in Norwich.
couple of points to get things off my chest.
Dave jones, he has never been a proactive manager at all, seeming to let things drift and stagnate on the pitch. with the quality we have we should be able to at least gain parity of possession against any teams in this league . Norwich yesterday a case in point, Norwich go 3 up top we defend even deeper than the first half instead of crowding out their only creative player (Hoolihan) and not having the nous or footballing intelligence to see the game out! we need some bloody dog in the middle.
Transfers. get the aforementioned dog such as Brown and reinforce defence with maybe Shittu in there and get the ball released early to our creative hub of Bellers, Whitts, Burkey and Chops. Let the opposition worry about what we have got to hurt them, not get bullied by the hardworking but tactically superior teams than we face. We just need a few little changes here and there and we can still get to the promised land.These are tactical changes not necessarily in personnel, we have to get the best out of whats there now and play to our many undoubted strengths!! Remember that all the teams in this league will shoot themselves in the foot at some stage of the season, so we have to hang tough to get bout of it. (smith started all games at Toon last season but provided the dog we lack, now their in the premiership he doesnt play cos the go for creativity)
