118 & 117 to 112 & 111

Tue Jan 25, 2011 9:59 pm

I emailed Gethin Jenkins regarding the move if we are promoted and he replied with:

Dear Michael,

Thank you for the email below.

In the event of promotion, we would move the season ticket holders in 118 and 117 to other areas of the ground depending on where they wanted to go. In terms of like for like most likely to blocks 112 and 111. This will effect approximately 150 people.

The reason for the change is Premier League rules say we have to offer 10% of capacity or 3,000 tickets e.g. 2,700. Currently it stands at 2018.

The reason why its these blocks and not the family stand is because for these blocks facilities are replicated in other areas of the ground whilst they are not for the family stand and would also need to displace around 700 people.

I trust you will understand our reasoning and we will only do this if promoted.

Regards,

Gethin

I for one would not be happy for this as I know that the atmosphere is much worse in 112/111 than it is in 118/117.

Does anyone know what the away sections hold in Old Trafford and the Emirates? Because I don't think they are 7,500 and 6000 which would be 10% of capacity.

In my opinion the club just wants to move the people from 118 & 117 because they don't like them standing.

It would spoil the whole match day experience for me if I was to made to sit in 112 or 111. :x

It's a maximum of 3000, no matter what size the stadium.

I agree that there are obvious ulterior motives for this, but alas :(

Do you sit by me down the front of 117? If so, I think it'll be from the 'wall' over towards the away sectoon. Perhaps 960 over or something.

What I don't understand is why didn't they think of this as they were designing and building the ground? They must have had plans to get to the Premier league at the time they were building it.

Like you say, it seems they are trying to spoil it for the 'inconvinient' fans.

I also thought they said they would use the 'community section' (although I think it was bollocks) for increasing the away allocation for cup games etc.

I`m in 112 and there isn`t much singing and no standing in this area. What about the lower grandstand like we had in NP

so will the segregation be flexible coz lets be honest how many prem teams away support would fail to fill the away area at CCS now let alone 3000 , especially evening games ? :ayatollah:

Will be a complete pisstake when Wigan (if they survive) send down their usual 52 seater bus full of away fans.
