Bloke who punched that Stevenage player

Was shown on the news up here on Wednesday attending court. He was told a custodial sentence was the norm for such an offence, he was then given bail pending reports.

The reason he gave for punching him was that his girlfriend was the players former partner and he hadn,t treated her very good.

i had been wondering what had happened with this.... with cctv everywhere it was prob the drink talking, if he really wanted to revenge his g/fs honour then he should have done the guy late one night when there was no cctv and when he hadnt drunk god knows how many pints........

Apparently he walked into his local police station and gave himself up the following week, his brief told the court. Didnt have much option I suppose.

If he was so up in arms, about the way the player treated his girlfriend then why didn't he have the bottle to fight him man to man. He goes running onto a packed footy field when the player is surrounded by jubilant fans and is least expecting to be hit and then gets a punch from behind/the side.
