He would have to be replaced and that is easier said than done at this point in the season. Therefore, less likely.

If you read the story properly, it says that they've turned down his request, much the same as Blackpool with Charlie Adam! ;) :) :ayatollah:

There is however, a supposed £50,000,000 get out clause in his contract, which is still a fair jump from the apparent £35,000,000, which has so far been offered! :ayatollah:

...activated on june 1 if they don't qualify for champ's league.

Football has nothing to do with the money game that is being played. Too many snouts in the trough - players, agents, clubs, key management, regulators - for rational thinking. If the top clubs wanted to force down wage levels, there is much that they could do.
