Absolutely disgusted with the sentences. Students, muggers and paedos all get less. The judicial system is a joke.

I like your thinking about jailing students.

It's a messageboard to air one's opinions.I give my opinion and you didn't like it.Im sorry for that but im not about to change it.For the record,i feel sorry fro the wives/girlfriends and kids of the 6,it cant be easy with daddy not being around.

If they are hooligans and have been involved in premeditated violence and hurt innocent fans then yes they deserve the book thrown at them.

I have followed CCFC for 30 years and have never been involved in aggro (numerous reasons not hard enough, prefer to watch the game although under durban preferred watching the scraps, good job, family etc) but on several occasions i have ended up in the middle of some real battles Chelsea, Pompey, Wolves and Sheff Utd away to name but a few. Quite easily in the agggro i could have been nicked-would i have deserved prison?

What really gets me is the inequality in sentences. Throw a punch and assault/abh on a friday night you get fined. Do it on a saturday afternoon you get 12 months. Paedos, druggies, petty criminals get community orders or supervision orders. Football lads get 2 years.

The justice system needs consistency and a reality check.

One ignorant tw*t "you dont get jailed for a first offence unless you
done something bad!".....

Not if your a paedo, burglar, junkie, or wife beater you dont!!

f*cking wankers!

Good luck to the lads doing bird tonight, see you all soon.

Sentances are way over the top,but these were always going to be "show" trials.....old bill set up!
I'm guessing these today all pleaded guilty?
My mate is up in April...has pleaded NG...think he's going to be hit even harder if found G.

Totally agree with you Gareth, and you put it so much better than most on here.Although, everyone is aware now on how hard the police and courts are dealing with such behaviour and I think we're all being a little naieve to think the 6 were all innocent bystanders.Perhaps they'll all appeal now and get the justice they think they deserve.

Crikey a jack agreeing with me on something! I must be mellowing.

The other point is on Friday night in Cardiff (your Capital ;) ) there will be pissed up people fighting, urinating, causing criminal damage and domestic violence will increase. This will merely be referred to as high jinks by the media and all those arrested will be fined £80 and that'll be the end of it. These twats should be punished in the same way as the Cardiff lads today but because it is not football very little will be done about it.

eg...

The former Auditor(£175000 per year salary) General, Jeremy Colman, resigned in February and was given an eight-month prison sentence last month for downloading child pornography to his office computer.

...he removed the hardrives from 3 home computers and binned/lost them...god knows what was on them...so peverting course of justice too....

8 months!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

We all know what the score is at football but gutted for those who have gone down, all I would ask for parity and fairness, it just doesn't happen for football sentencing, the scenes I have seen on Youtube would warrant no more than £50 fines and a night in the nick looking at the boozed up Britain programmes on TV. This is not justice.

The thing is, what deterrent is that? a £50 fine and a night in the cells will be like a trophy. You can guarantee these lads will be steering clear of trouble once their bans are over with. You say it's just like minded folk having a dust up but it affects lots of people, the majority of those being law abiding citizens who just want to watch football and then get home afterwards.

It seems the authorities are all too keen to impose draconian sentences for anything football related but are very lenient on everything else.

What about this recent example (apologies if the link don't work), the assailant probably got a letter of recommendation off the WRU.

I'm gutted for the boys up there, I witnessed the trouble there and it's no way worse than you see the students doing in the capital. It's a f*cking joke, you could go to town on Friday and kick a egg chaser half to death and you would get time for it.

For all you who think this is true justice, you can f**k off your a bunch of do gooding CUNTS!

what did he plead gultiy to m8?

He plead "no plea" upon the advice of his solicitor. My understanding is that they had nothing on him. He was seen quote "jumping around amongst the trouble and was caught on camera close to where trouble broke out" they didn't see him shout at anyone let alone throw a punch. He got community service for jumping up and down. Pathetic.

I understand the point that some people would see today’s sentences’ as an injustice when comparing it to the Jeremy Colman case or even that of asylum seeker Aso Mohammed Ibrahim who knocked down Amy Houston, 12, and then fled the scene leaving her under the wheels of his car (he got 4 months imprisonment but permanent permission to remain in the UK).

That said I think you will find that most people would agree that the sentences handed out today were correct because they reflected the danger which football hooliganism presents to innocent bystanders which may include children. On the other hand they would also agree that the sentence given to Jeremy Colman was hopelessly lenient because it involved the disgusting exploitation of young children for sexual gratification and the same for Aso Mohammed Ibrahim who actually killed a child and fled the scene.

However, what really baffles me is the attitude of the coalition Government who are on record as saying imprisonment doesn’t work and institutionalises the young if they are sent to prison. If that is the case then why are they jailing two 17 years-olds for 16 months for their first offence when no-one got hurt?

So a football fan throws a Bollard at a Chelsea fan who wants to fight him and gets 16 months in prison first offence, What should the Students get for THEIR PROPER RIOT ?
