Reading and Cardiff charged
Thursday, 03 February, 2011
FA and FAW charge clubs over separate issues of improper conduct.

Both Cardiff City FC and Reading FC have been charged with two separate incidents of improper conduct by The Football Association of Wales and The Football Association respectively, following their Football League Championship fixture on 1 February.

Cardiff City FC face two charges relating to a breach of FAW Rule 24.2.13 for the alleged failure of its players to conduct themselves in an orderly fashion during and following the conclusion of the match.

In addition, Cardiff City’s Craig Bellamy has been charged with a breach of FAW Rule 24.2.9 for his alleged improper conduct following the conclusion of the match. The charge is in relation to an incident in or around the tunnel area.

Both Cardiff City and Craig Bellamy have ten calendar days as and from 4 February to respond to the charges.

Reading FC face two breaches of FA Rule E20 having failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour in or around the 90th minute; and having failed to ensure its players conducted themselves in an orderly fashion and/or refrained from provocative behaviour in the tunnel area following the end of match.

In addition, Reading FC’s Mikele Leigertwood has accepted a charge of violent conduct and will serve a three match suspension with immediate effect.

Improper Conduct is a lesser offence in the disciplinary process probably just said something as if it involved violent conduct he would have been charged with violent conduct and that would have a 3 match ban.

He has received details of the charge and that may include the likely penalty, he now has 10 days to consider if he accepts the charge and penalty. He can however ask for a personal hearing and then the matter will be considered by a commission, if he doesn't like the outcome of the commission he can appeal.

This will probably go on for a while unless he accepts the charge and the likely 1 game ban, given the number of midweek games we have this month he may well decide to accept the ban.

Lets face it he won't be playing every game this month anyway. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Bellamy charged?

Well, he'll be banged up and possibly sent to Australia.

Which reminds me - whatever happened to saladthedragon's bold prediction?

I bet Chopra is glad the referee booked him for pushing Jobi McAnuff otherwise he would be on a charge facing a 3 game ban. :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

24-2-9 could relate to a lesser form of misconduct and could end up with a fine. depends what he said because I doubt he put it in text, certainly does not suggest violence.
