Club Statement RE: Chelsea

Fri Feb 04, 2011 10:22 am

"As a club we fully support the actions undertaken by South Wales Police and Metropolitan Police in identifying those guilty of causing public disorder after our February 2010 FA Cup game Stamford Bridge. We continue to work closely with all authorities and will strongly enforce any banning orders issued to individuals who are held to account.

Following great strides and a lot of hard work from supporter groups, authorities and club officials in recent years to improve the behaviour, perception and reputation of Cardiff City fans, we are appreciative and understanding of how much has been accomplished and recognise that the vast majority of supporters are a credit to the club.

Since its inception we have also been consistently presented Family Excellence Awards by the Football League, while over 5,000 family stand season ticket holders perfectly illustrates our efforts to offer a safe and enjoyable environment in which true fans can support their team.

It is therefore very disappointing when public order offences are committed by a small minority of individuals who masquerade to support, yet harm the club. We would like to reiterate our strong belief that this form of public disorder is not welcome or tolerated at Cardiff City Football Club."

Well the club can't question the length of the sentances etc. Would be a PR disaster. They can't really say anything other than they agree with the Met. Its all polotics, even if they were treated unfairly.

Spot on - the club has to put this sort of stuff out whether they agree with it or not.
