The Wales manager Gary Speed has confirmed that Dutchman Raymond Verheijen will be his assistant manager.
Verheijen (age 39) is well known for his expertise on tactics, planning and conditioning, and has worked with some of the best coaches in world football. He has worked alongside Dutch coaches Frank Rijkaard, Louis Van Gaal, Guus Hiddink and Dick Advocaat. In the process he has worked towards and been involved in the last seven major tournaments with four different countries, the Netherlands, Russia, South Korea and Australia, reaching 5 semi finals.
Wales will be hoping that the experience gained will be beneficial as under Speed they look to qualify for major finals for the first time since 1958.
The Wales manager said ”I am delighted to have Raymond on board as part of my team. His experience will prove invaluable and his credentials are first class. I look forward to working closely with him over the next few years starting of course with my first game in charge in Dublin on Tuesday”.

Odd choice for asst manager, someone with a dearth of top flight coaching experience.
That said, welcome aboard bro! Maybe he can drill some sense into the FAW! From all accounts this guy doesn't suffer fools gladly if at all.
From the fitness perspective, he's a one man revolution.

Good choice his record speaks for its self. It could mean that he is over here more, so he can keep popping in on City

Raymond Verheijen is an excellent guy... the reason Bellamy has recovered from the stupid pre season training @ man city.
