Football used to be a sport, but unfortunaly its a money making buisness now. :( :(

I'd agree it's a business but money making? Maybe to the select few but in the main you only need to look at the balance sheets and its a play thing or hobby to most who borrow money and load the finances onto the club. :(

football is an uber-business. its not a business in the real sense of the world. in the last few years when the whole world is going to shit football is spending more and more money. its quite remarkable really as the only "business" that has seen widespread effects of the recession, baring the odd few teams

Good point. The smaller the disposable income, the more likely a fan is to go to a sporting event (something along those lines).
