Gary Mason got a proper send-off this afternoon in the massive turn-out for a well organised funeral and the dignity of the occasion was not lost as sometimes happens with big funerals. The boxing community joined as one in sorrow, Michael Watson, Frank Bruno, Derek Williams, Adrian Elliot, Horace Notice, Alan Minter, Lloyd Honeyghan, Julius Francis, Billy Schwer, Steve Bunce, Frank Maloney and many more. Was a British Champion though wasn't he? When he fought Lennox Lewis he held a heavyweight belt of some sort as Lewis unified the British, European and Commonwealth titles.
