If we had signed Given we would have won one nil last night.

To those that say we don't need Given, there is 2 points lost already, Heaton is a good keeper, Given is world class and wouldn't have been beaten on his near post IMO.

It wasn't all his fault either, the defenders fell asleep at the wrong time, just one of those things though, onwards and upwards and 3 points at Forest to dent their challenge.........

True but they have not been linked, Given has and there are quite a lot of people who said he is not needed we have a keeper......

Yes we do but Given is a potential target and he has stated publicly that he wants to drop to the Championship to get his sharpness back in case he is needed with a short term recall cause like Rambo.......

If there is any chance at all DJ should move heaven and earth to get him :ayatollah: :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Having a young, fully capped england internatonal for a keeper is far more marketable and his value now probably surpasses what givens ever was, despite the fact I dont think hart will become a better player than given

The ball somehow went through 3 City players and you're saying it was Heaton's fault and Given would have saved it? I think any keeper would have expected Bothroyd and whoever else that was on the near post to clear the ball instead of switching off and wandering off the post!

In my opinion, we would have won last night if DJ had made the correct subs and changed to 4-5-1. Why bring Koumas on when we are 1-0 up, getting outplayed and hanging on to the lead? Bothroyd was sulking and disinterested. As usual, a few decisions go against him and he doesn't want to know. Bothroyd should have gone off, Parkin should have come on to play a lone striker with Bellamy moving to the left and Whitts shifting inside with Rambo and Oli holding behind them to make 4-5-1. Burnley were controlling the game and we needed an extra man in the middle to tighten things up I thought. But DJ is determined to stick with his 4-4-2 and go like for like, no matter how much we are struggling!

No we would have probably won 2 or 3 nil as he would have kicked/distributed the ball far better than Heaton

Spot on!

Thommo made a run of more than 20 yards to get to the ball and nobody picked him up, as all the defenders were ball watching!

Goalkeepers never mark the near post and Heaton had no chance to get forward and make a save from the header either! :ayatollah:
