A scab is a two-legged animal with a corkscrew soul, a water brain, a combination backbone of jelly and glue.
Where others have hearts, he carries a tumour of rotten principles.
When a scab comes down the street, men turn their backs and angels weep in heaven, and the devil shuts the gates of hell to keep him out.
No man has a right to scab so long as there is a pool of water to drown his carcass in, or a rope long enough to hang his body with.
Judas was a gentleman compared with a scab. For betraying his master, he had character enough to hang himself. A scab has not.
Esau sold his birthright for a mess of pottage.
Judas sold his Saviour for thirty pieces of silver.
Benedict Arnold sold his country for a promise of a commision in the british army.
The scab sells his birthright, country, his wife, his children and his fellowmen for an unfulfilled promise from his employer.
Esau was a traitor to himself; Judas was a traitor to his God; Benedict Arnold was a traitor to his country.
A scab is a traitor to his God, his country, his family and his class.
A real man never becomes a strike breaker.

If you're a real man you stand up for your beliefs no matter what others say. South Wales and Nottinghamshire decided not to strike. South Wales allowed itself to be intimidated, Nottinghamshire did not. The strike was meant to allow Arthur to strut around, pretending he was a working class hero. South Wales sacrificed its pits for Yorkshire.
Did Arthur call a strike when Welsh pits were being shut down? Did Yorkshire risk its jobs for your sake?
Grow up.

Now now, if you go saying things like that you have to get a real reply to what reaaly happened. We had a conference decision which had a national ballot pending that if any pit was threatened with closure, the national executive could call us out on strike.
Nottinghamshire miners hid behind the ballot, and because they did not take an interest in the union, they would not have known what had gone on during the lead up to the strike!

Bollux. The ruling class paymasters policy is to divide and conquer, it's about which side are you on. The miners of south wales voted not to strike but collectively agreed not to cross picket lines and were solid in all but a few pits. The scabs of Nottingham took the shithouse route, and their reward ??, Thatcher had their pits shut too. The workingmans only weapon is unity, the miners fight was a righteous one, it's a pity other members of the working class didn't back them because if you haven't noticed, all that's left in our once industrial heartland is few jobs and a lot of despair.

If the workingman's only weapon is unity then there should have been a ballot to ensure unity.

The fact is the vast majority of the miners felt a strike was justified, ballot or not.

What are you going to do when power stations close down in mid winter because the cleaners go on strike and picket the other workers out? Freeze to death in a socialist utopia.
A lot of Britain's industry was screwed up because of bad labour relations. People need to work together to make sure that there are jobs rather than making stupid and futile gestures.

How do you know what they felt when you were too scared to ask them. What were you afraid of.

Stupid and futile gestures ??
Do you think we should all just plod along when we get treated like shite.
Do you deny a person the right to withdraw their labour at any time.
Jeez I thought slavery had been abolished.
Back to the main topic, understand this, it was a fight picked by your beloved thatcher, not the NUM, so go and point your finger and castigate them,
for they were the cause of the dispute in an act of spiteful revenge for the collapse of ted heaths goverment, history will show that the miners were justified in their actions.

Why wasn't a national ballot held?
Scared to take a stand ? you're at it again pal making snide incorrect assumptions, you don't even know these men. Look ,if you want to talk down to someone, make snide comments, at least be man enough to do it face to face , I think we've established who the keyboard warrior is here ,don't you ?

For £3million they could buy everyone in Wales a shovel, and we'll dig a hole deep enough to deliver her to Satan ourselves.
