I've read about that. I have no idea why anyone would want to watch it. Its about rape. The whole plot line revolves around raping unconcious people, killing someone while raping them, raping dead people, raping babies and children.

How can that be art? Its just disgusting. I can watch all sorts. But I won't be watching that because in my view its glorifying rape by the amount of it that's in it.

While not defending the film at all, surely if that is glorifying rape, then Die Hard 2 glorifies shooting people in an airport? Trainspotting glorifies drugs, and Twin Town gloriifies being a Jack?

Difference is, people don't go into airports shooting people everyday. But rape is an every day occurrance. But I don't think men will ever understand. As a woman, I never worry about getting mugged, beaten up etc. But I do worry about getting raped working home from work etc. Its a constant worry for women everywhere. I can't walk home from town drunk after a night out because if I was attacked, then people would assume 'oh she was drunk, wearing revealing clothes etc she was asking for it.' I could not watch that film as in my opinion, rape is sometimes worse than murder.

It's clearly just going for the shock angle, and by the looks of it, it's achieved that. The film preview in HD makes the cinematography look pretty sharp and the sets look good, but I'll bet the acting is pretty shit.

IMHO though, the 'gore porn' genre is now a parody of itself - simply a race to the bottom (erm, no pun intended) of depravity. All depends what your take is on art, if you consider films to be art at all.

One last thing - slightly pedantic here, but shouldn't it be called 'The Human Stick Insect' :?:
