This is why we should never forget why the brave men and women of World War 2 should never be forgotten. For when it comes down to it that is the reason why they needed to fight to defeat the tyranny of the Nazi Germany that where hell bent on world domination :ayatollah:

Been to Auschwitz, the bigger Auschwitz 2 is quite saddening when you walk round the place and realise how big it is, non-the-less Krakow is a great trip and Auschwitz is quite insightful. Glad you enjoyed the trip! :ayatollah:

I'm a gimp, I think I would fall apart if I visited any of the concentration camps. I doubt my ability to bear the Imperial War Museums exhibits regarding them. It must never be forgotten. I fear Israels actions these days might cause *some to not appreciate the suffering endured during WWII, which of course should be judged seperately.

I went to Terezin in the Czech Republic - It was very moving, especially with the thousands of graves outside the Concentration Camp. We visited the school there in Terezin, which is now a museum, the walls had all the children names on with a few school satchells. We dont know how lucky we are.....

I'm going to Krakow in a couple of weeks, definitely making the trip to Aschwitz. Watched a documentary about it last night, horrifying stuff and will be an unsettling visit after watching scenes of what went on.

Birkenau is the bigger camp in the Auchwitz complex, this is where most of the killing took place, there are also camps like Treblinka , Sobibor and Chelmo , that the Nazi,s destroyed during the war to cover up their crimes. It allways frightens me that there are still many Holocaust deniers out there. With all the evidence, how can some say it never happened .

If anybody needs to learn more about the Holocaust. some good books are, "If This is a Man" by Primo Levi, "Man,s search for Meaning" by Victor Frankel, "Holocaust Journey" by Martin Gilbert and "The Night" by Ellie Wiesel .

Seeing and hearing stories of the holocaust makes you realise that the second world war was definetely a war worth fighting.

We should never forget. Anyone who ever thinks of casting a vote for the likes of BNP should remember what their forefathers fought and died for.

Ironic statement really, when you consider the Nazi party was a socialist party.

Such a tragedy and it is a real shame that humanity hasn't learnt from its mistakes. Be it with the Jewish population, Rwanda, Cambodia or any other places where genocide has taken place, it will always be a part of human life which is a horrible thought and one I find difficult to comprehend.

I went with the RAMS when Wales played Poland (Amazing trip)

but it is a horrible place, so sad and basically unbelievable that it happened, it just doesnt seem real.

The Nazi party was a national socialist party, a massive difference !

The Nazis were fascists as are their BNP brethren. Nick Griffin incidentally is a former holocaust denier.

Your so right, there,s a huge difference between National Socailism and socialism, Nazi ideology was one race, one culture one Germany, anyone who didnt fit into that was subhuman .
