RACE NIGHT IN AID OF KEENOR STATUE APPEAL

Fri Mar 04, 2011 11:24 am

Would appreciate your time in at least having a gander at this event and of course, seeing if you can attend. Should be a good laugh for a good cause:

RACE NIGHT IN AID OF KEENOR STATUE APPEAL

The Fred Keenor fundraising committee, in conjunction with Eric Harmer, landlord of the Duke of Clarence, is holding a race night next month.

The event takes place at the pub in Clive Road, Canton, Cardiff, on Thursday, April 14, (7pm for 7.30pm start) with proceeds going to statue appeal.

You can help by buying and naming a horse for just £5 as well as turning up on the night. And if your horse wins the race, you’ll pick up a prize, courtesy of one of the race sponsors who are local businesses.

To register a horse, just email fundraising@ccfctrust.org with a name and contact details. We will confirm your horse and inform you of the race they will be entered into. Cheques or postal orders for £5 payable to the Fred Keenor Statue Fund will need to be sent to the appeal project manager David Craig at 19 Wordsworth Avenue, Penarth, CF64 2RL, at least a week before the race night.

David Craig said: “Eric has been a great supporter of the appeal and we’re delighted that he has offered to run a race night. He’s got a wealth of experience of race nights and we’re confident that punters will have a fun night and a tidy sum will be raised for the appeal.”

The fund currently stands at more than £42,000 – almost half way to the £85,000 target.
