I`D LOVE FOR US TO DO A SWANSEA 1981-82

if we were to get promoted i`d love for us to do what toshack did in 1981-82 when he filled his swansea team with welsh players that stormed to the top of the old first division! .... alan curtis, robbie james, leighton philips, leighton james,nigel stevenson, dai davies, jeremy charles, john mahoney, etc, .... i`d love it if we went up and did the same by signing players like andy king, gunter, ledley etc! ... a true welsh team! ... imagine if we got to the stage were we in a position to sign/or keep the likes of bale, ramsey, james collins, earnshaw, gabbidon, giggs etc! ... players playing for the badge and country week in, week out! ..... WELL I CAN DREAM ANYWAY!

If we were taken over by a multi billionaire sugar daddy that could well be the key to surviving in the Premiership. Sign players who will be fighting for more than just the 3 points.

I remember Sam having the same idea, it would never work cos Wales team wouldnt qualify for champions league as it stands

Toshack filled his squad with over paid has beens coz in 1984 they were in the 4th div with us

we were in the 2nd division in 1984 ... we didnt go down to division 4 until 1986 [same year as swansea]

what a turn around though for both welsh clubs! fighting for the automatic spot to the premiership! .... trust those jacks for standing in our way after all these years out of the top flight! .... BASTARDS!
