city fined bellamy cleared

CARDIFF City skipper Craig Bellamy was tonight cleared by the FAW of a charge of improper conduct following the Bluebirds' 2-2 draw with Reading last month.

But the club was fined £5,000 plus costs for failing to control their players in the tunnel area following a fracas after the game at Cardiff City Stadium.

A further charge against the Bluebirds relating to incidents on the pitch after the final whistle was found unproven by the FAW.

Bellamy and club officials attended the FAW Disciplinary hearing today at the Association's Cardiff Bay headquarters.

The verdict means Bellamy is free to take his place in Cardiff's crunch Championship clash at Milwall on Saturday
