Im scratching my head to think of a manager at any level who
makes so many references to 'the rub of the green' and luck.

When we were playing well in that spell (yes it seems so long ago) I
dont recall Dave jones once saying how "we were lucky to win today"
or "The opposition just didnt have the rub of the green"

But the second things go wrong its ALL about how you need that little
bit of luck in this game.

Have QPR been lucky? Nope. They have had some bad patches, but their
excellent defence has still made them incredibly difficult to break down
... so its hard work, TEAMWORK has got them where they are, not luck!!

They say luck evens itself out over a season, if thats the case then maybe
Jones should be looking elsewhere to apportion blame, somewhere closer

He's a total clueless cock. I said he should have been sacked straight after the Preston game. Nothing has or will change my mind, not even promotion, which if it happens will involve scraping in through the play-offs. No apologies on offer to the Jones lovers.

My whole point is.. you make your own luck mate. When QPR were scraping 1-0 wins
in the last minute or draws from the brink of defeat... it was because they had a
damn good defence, they all played for each other. They fought for every ball. Thats
not luck, its the sign of a good side and a good manager. We have neither. We just
have lots of talented individuals

bit of both! i agree with "you make your own luck" but also you have to take into consideration that our team is better than most teams in this division. forget having a better team on paper, we have proved our team is better than most but we can't bring luck into this. we dropped several points because of naylor and DJ not replacing him. we didn't play great at qpr but naylor was sloppy throughout and they scored another. i just don't think attitudes from certain players has been great for parts of the season and also DJ hasn't grilled the players enough. things will change today

that does tend to happen if you play shite

but what he's getting at is some teams don't play that great but manage to scrape a goal near the end, whereas i can't think of a time we did that. i can remember us playing pretty good and managed to get a goal last minuite but not doing the same when we are playing crap. some teams seem to do it on a regular basis. *cough* NORWICH

I think this is our fundamental problem.

When we are playing to the best of our abilities, we win. Its a given.
we are far too good (on paper) for most of this division. Ditto QPR

When we are not playing to the best of our abilities we generally lose
or draw. When QPR are playing under par, they generally still scrape
a win.

When we are playing shite, we lose. QPR have only lost 4 games all
season, they have been the masters of being shite but still hanging
on to the grim death for a draw.

Our side has no fight in it. Nor does our manager have any in him

I had to laugh at Avram Grant saying 'referees have cost us 10 points this season'. He clearly hasn't taken into account the fortuitous decisions West Ham have had that have won them points.

Yes, luck is present in football but it does even itself out. You make your own luck. Is it luck that Norwich have scored so many goals late on? I don't think so. It's like in poker. Luck plays a role but you can increase your odds by playing a good tactical game.

You do make a good point and it's true that luck does even itself out BUT, I genuinely think we have been a bit unlucky lately, lets have some good luck today !!!
