Players mentality - Play offs

Mon Apr 25, 2011 7:54 pm

As we're now guaranteed a play off spot and are basically out of the running for an auto spot, our players, manager and fans are able to look forward to the play offs and have a couple of weeks to get themselves mentally ready for them.

Does it concern you how your players will react if there is a last day disappointment of missing out on the automatic promotion spot that most people thought was a given once you'd signed Bellamy? Do you think they'll be able to pick themselves up after that sort of disappointment and be up for the play offs, especially given what happened last year?

Should we be in the play offs I think our players will be up for it, if anything it should make them a lot stronger mentally, and better prepared for it than any of the other teams in there

Have you seen our run in the last eight games? They're handling the pressure immensely, and are much more equipped this time. Add to that, Mark Hudson returned today and was his usual rock solid self. 11 away wins deserves promotion and personally i believe we'll be celebrating at Burnley in two weeks. If Norwich match us in the last two games then we have nothing to fear in the playoffs. We're going up this year. Bookmark this please

There's not a single team likely to be in the play-offs that would look forward to playing us this season :ayatollah: It's still possible that we will go up automatically but if we don't I have much more confidence in this first XI than last season's.

Surely not even the Jacks would want to play us at the wide open Wembley with Bellers and Burke running at them like they have been in the last month or so :o

History tells us that the team with momentum does well in the play-offs (e.g. Blackpool). At the moment, that team is us or Norwich. So in answer to you questions I think this team's mentality is such that they would actually look forward to the play-offs, if they come, as an opportunity to right some wrongs of last season and the fact that they've been through it before will only help matters :ayatollah: :ayatollah:

Incase you hadn't noticed he's a Jack.....

Obviously never went down very well on his own message board and was feeling a little lonely, so has come over to the more successful part of Wales where he may get some joy should we get promotion.
